Email Suntrail supportVersion guide: earlier releases contain six offline missions. The current iPhone 1.1.0 beta (build 15) keeps 24 campaign missions across eight chapters and adds optional private Duo Survival. The next iPhone candidate, build 16, adds a 16+ age check for online Duo. Build 16 remains an unreleased iPhone candidate. The Android 1.1.0 (3) update has been submitted to Google Play for closed-test review; it is not yet approved or available to testers. Check your installed version; a beta feature described here may not be present in an earlier build.
Newer beta: Duo Survival
How do two people play together?
Both players need a compatible Duo beta and an internet connection. Choose Duo Survival from the title screen. One player creates a private room and shares the displayed code directly with their friend; the friend joins with that code. Choose your rangers, ready up and start when both players are connected. Survive five waves together in the Glasshouse arena. There is no public matchmaking, chat or voice.
Why do the iPhone candidate and Android update ask for an age range?
In the iPhone build 16 candidate and Android update under review, Duo online is available to players aged 16 or older. Before the room controls, choose Under 16 or 16 or Older; neither option is preselected. Only that eligibility choice is saved locally, without a birthday or precise age, and it is not sent to Unity. Under-16 players and players who leave the question unanswered can still play every solo mode. No online service starts from this screen. Deleting an existing saved online guest remains available in Privacy regardless of the age choice. The current iPhone build 15 beta does not contain this age check; it is planned for build 16.
Why did the room close?
Duo cannot pause both players. Leaving, switching away from the app, losing the connection or the host disconnecting can end the room. Return to the title screen and create or join a new room. If a code fails, check it with the host and confirm that both players use a compatible beta. Solo missions remain available offline. Share room codes privately.
How do I delete the online guest?
Leave Duo, then open Settings > Privacy > Co-op data choices > Manage Online Guest. Choose Delete Online Guest and confirm. Internet is required. This permanently deletes the saved Unity Authentication guest without erasing local solo progress or saved Duo records. A failed request can be retried. It never creates a guest just to delete one. An eligible player who starts online play later creates a new guest. See Duo privacy and retention for separately retained service logs and access/deletion requests.
Getting started
How do I move, aim, and fire?
Hold your device sideways. By default, drag the left stick to move and the right stick to aim and fire. Lift your aiming thumb to stop firing. Tap Dash, Reload, your ranger ability or an unlocked weapon slot. In Settings > Touch controls, move the action buttons, resize the sticks or swap sides for left-handed play.
Which ranger can I choose?
Choose Finn, Maya or Rook from the title screen. Finn has Trail Dash, Maya has Field Heal, and Rook has Aegis Shield. Each ranger's ability has a cooldown. Outfits and weapon colours change appearance without adding stat bonuses.
How do I unlock another mission or weapon?
Complete the mission objectives and all five waves in Sundune Depot to unlock Verdant Station and the Breach Shotgun. Complete Verdant Station to unlock Frostline Harbor and the Longshot DMR. Continue through Sunspire Mesa, Moonlit Marsh and Ember Foundry. Use the journey arrows on the title screen to choose among all six original arenas as you unlock them. The newer beta continues to 24 missions across eight chapters. Completing a single wave does not unlock the next mission.
Can I change the difficulty?
Choose Easy, Medium, or Hard from the title screen before starting a mission. Easy gives more room to learn the controls and enemy patterns. Your earned mission and weapon unlocks remain available across difficulties.
What happens between waves?
After each of the first four waves, choose one upgrade: Overclock for stronger shots, Reinforced for more maximum health and repairs, or Afterburner for faster movement and a shorter dash cooldown. These upgrades apply to your current run. Each mission has five waves and a final boss.
How does the Workshop work?
Open Expedition Camp > The Workshop before a mission. Defeat machines and find arena discoveries to earn parts in the game; parts cannot be bought with real money. Craft a modification once, then switch freely among owned choices at camp. Equip one modification per weapon. Each has a benefit and a tradeoff, and a weapon must be unlocked before you can craft for it.
How do I earn star rewards?
Each mission shows three star criteria before you start: complete the objectives, meet its protection goal and finish within its active-time target. Your best winning-run rating is saved separately for each difficulty. Star Rewards counts your highest star count per mission across difficulties, up to 18 in six-mission versions or 72 in the expanded 24-mission beta. These stars unlock outfits for all three rangers, weapon colours and camp decorations. Stars are never spent. You can preview a locked reward, but must earn its milestone before equipping it.
What can I discover in the arenas?
Approach a service bay to open its gate, then look for a parts cache and a scout awaiting pickup. A separate survey beacon holds a ranger story. Move close and tap the displayed action to collect a discovery, then read your notes in Expedition Camp > Field Journal. Discoveries stay recorded and award parts once. Watch the marked press area before its machinery activates; it can damage you and enemies. Conveyor belts move actors through the arena. These exploration activities are optional.
Can I pause or switch to another app?
Tap Pause to take a break, then Resume when you are ready. Leaving a solo mission for another app pauses it until you resume. An online Duo room closes when you leave the app; it cannot pause the other player. If the operating system closes the game in the background, the next launch returns to the title screen.
What progress is saved?
Completed missions and weapon unlocks, best records, mission-star ratings, trophies, lifetime eliminations and dashes, workshop parts and modifications, discovered stories/caches/scouts, cosmetic choices, selected ranger and settings are saved on your device. Custom touch layouts are saved too. An unfinished mission's health, ammunition and temporary wave upgrades are not restored after closing the app. There is no game-operated cloud-sync feature. Earlier offline versions have no game account. Newer Duo betas use an anonymous Unity guest for online rooms; this does not upload your saved solo progress. Deleting the app, clearing its storage on Android, or moving to another device may lose local progress; operating-system backups are managed separately.
Does the game need an internet connection?
After installation, solo gameplay works offline. Optional Duo in the newer beta needs an internet connection for both players. Downloading or updating through Apple or Google Play, joining a store test, visiting this site, and sending support email may need a connection.
What should I do if something looks wrong?
Pause and note the mission, difficulty, wave, and device orientation. Tell support which part of the screen is affected, especially if a button, label, or character is clipped. Send the steps that reproduce the issue and an original screenshot if possible. Avoid deleting and reinstalling the app before contacting support if you want to preserve local progress.
